We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge. This was our first time ever and we had a blast. The water park is huge and has plenty to do for all ages. Lots of various activities besides the water park, though some might be better suited for older kids, such as the climbing which requires a height of 48". Our room was clean and quiet and I especially appreciated the hotel reminding us all about quiet hours, which helped everyone sleep better. Didn't try the food and instead either brought our own or went out to eat. All in all, the kids had a good time and we're hoping we can come back another year.
Don’t let the bad reviews deter you. We had a great experience - we arrived around 1030am on a Friday and check in only took about 5 minutes and our room was ready upon arrival. The entire facility was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Like others have said, your room may be very far from the one set of elevators (ours was) but you’re barely in your room so it should not be a big deal. Other reviewers complained about the crowds. We didn’t have any issues with this. You should expect crowds at a place like this. On Friday, we didn’t have to wait more than 5 minutes for any water slide. Saturday was significantly busier, but the longest wait we had was 15 minutes. We did not have to wait at all for any restaurants. Our kids participated in all of the resort activities (golf, ropes course, etc) and never had a wait to do any of those either. Obviously weekdays are going to be less crazy than weekends. Just go into it thinking you’ll likely have to deal with a lot of people and you’ll be fine.
